They all look really good here 🙂 I’m gonna save all the pics when I get home. thanks!
Looks like I’m not the only one concerned about their well-being… this is pure insanity they’re going through. SM is totally milking them dry, the brightest flames burn the shortest. I certainly hope that’s not their fate, but SM is treating them like it is. Totally slave driving them with a “cash in while we still can” mentality. What’s next for the girls? 4-6 weeks of mad Hoot promotions with the possibility of a follow-up track (it seems to be the trend this year), that leads into December time frame with the music award ceremonies in Korea, possible appearance on Kohaku (Red White Song Battle) in Japan, Gayo Daejuns on KBS, MBC and SBS, then January is the next stop of their SMTown tour in Tokyo, it looks like they girls won’t be getting any break until at least the Korean Lunar New Year.
I hope the girls find solace in the care of each other and the support of the SONEs world wide, we are a very concerned group of fans and we want the girls to be happy. It’s not exactly a good thing to be over-exposed, everything gets tiring quickly which prompts SM to crank up their promotions even more frequently, and it just becomes a vicious cycle. I hope somebody at SM Entertainment wakes up and see things more from a long-term perspective.
Nevertheless, the girls never fail to impress with their georgeous faces and clear skin, not to mention the ultra sophisticated wardrobe. Let’s hope they get through these busy times and wish them the best of luck with Hoot and year-end activities.
@ragingXL : i second that! we sones are very worried for our girls too..hope they find solace and comfort in each other for thier coming busy schedule. Hope all 9 of the angels will always be in their best of health. SME should really look over this matter.
It’s not anything new. Apart from the break between Baby Baby and Gee it’s always been crazy, the only difference being that they’re not really doing variety shows & radio any more.
You’d think all the flights might take their toll, but then again it’s no different to when they’d travel all around SK by bus. In fact it’s probably quicker.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d love the girls go go and laze on a beach somewhere for a month instead, but they’ve made all they’ve coped with so far look effortless & I don’t see it being any worse now than it was before.
Trust me it’s gotten a whole lot worse than before, especially since Japanese promotions started. Last year there were no SMtown or INTW concerts (til December at least), so far they’ve done 5 INTWs and 3 SMTowns vs 2 INTWs in Dec 09, no Japan promotions in 09, they had two rounds of promos (Gee and Genie) vs five this year (Oh, RDR, Genie Jp, Gee Jp, and Hoot). Traveling to five countries for large scale projects by flight is definitely worse than bus rides to small scale appearances, way more time consuming and exhausting. No matter how you look at this, their seemingly “effortless” ability to handle this madness is no justification to stress then even further. So I humbly disagree with your view.
My point being that while the nature of the work might change, the busyness doesn’t. They’d regularly tell of going without sleep in the past, or 3-4 hours being a good night.
I feel quite the opposite, the nature of their work hasn’t changed much, but the sheer amount of work they have to do MORE nowadays. Album promotions are album promotions, concert appearances are concert appearances, they’ve done all that before. They just have to do double this year, SNSD 2010 makes SNSD 2009 look like a walk in the park. If you were a university student and you were taking 3 classes last semester but you’re taking 6 classes now, you can’t say that the level of your busyness won’t change. You’d be burning the mid-night oil and pulling all-nighters twice as frequently, study twice as much, and have twice as many exams.
I seriously can’t think of a 2-3 month period in their entire 3 year career that compares to August – October this year, you can see that even the amount of work by the SNSDKorean staff has doubled because of all the activities they’ve been doing. There’s a human limit to everything, despite what you see on the outside. And it’s sad to see the girls get their limits tested and be on the edge all the time. Living such an insane lifestyle is devastating to a girl’s long-term health, no SONE would want to see our girls get abused and washed up quickly. I hope you understand.
I hope they wont tire themselves out ^^ gogo soshi ^^
hope you guys dont get to tired….fighting….
I hope they can rest, I really care … u.u
are beautiful, Go SNSD!!!!!
Thanks for uploading the full fancam of the event :). The “shaky” camera work, however, almost made me “seasick” 😉 ! Ha !
Over the course of nearly 7 months watching them perform and appear live on television and in real life, while watching some of their old shows in order to ge acquianted with SNSD and their activites, It would be inappropriate to say ‘SNSD HWAITING!’ right now, so I won’t. Either way, back on topic.
I’ve been busy with my life and other distractions to notice or even take note of how many activities SNSD has been partaking in. RagingXL, I admire your ability to keep up with everything SNSD related, but then again, everything has a limit. It’s true that with the increased workload of SNSD’s activities, reporters like this blog find that their workload increases accordingly in direct proportion.
But I have to include my stance on this, if you were to look from a bystander’s point of view from a non-related standpoint, you would see that it’s the general publics’ fault. They are predilected towards only seeing things SNSD related, and won’t even watch a particular program unless it has SNSD in them. I will acknowledge the fact that yes, it’s good that SNSD has a large, supportive fanbase, sometimes this can lead to overall competition from other media. The ‘other media’ refers to other groups and fanbases of their respective order, because of the fierce competition between the 2 parties, companies have to dish out more promotion and appearances in order to ‘conquer’ their quadrant of the music industry, or even the international community’s attention. Bottom line is, sometimes, the public has to expand their view not just on SNSD, because that leads the fierce competition between respective media, thus leadin to company’s initiating this ‘vicious cycle’ of action which wears down over time.
I can add some more info, but I’ll just wait until a response can be elicited.
If you read my first comment in this article, I said that this has become a vicious cycle, so basically your view and mine are aligned. The more attention being paid to SNSD, the more work SM will make them do, and the harder the competition will try to catch up, prompting SM to increase their workload even more to stay ahead. The saying goes, it’s easy to get to the top, but much harder to stay on top. There’s also the factor of their music getting old and tiring quickly, the kpop industry is notoriously competitive and the style of dance music isn’t the type that stays popular and keep people focused for a long time. People get bored of new music a lot quicker nowadays, forcing the companies to keep producing new songs at a faster rate. All of this form the vicious cycle of overworked idols we see today, and SNSD being king of the hill at the moment, naturally have to bear the harshest schedules.
In the end, I agree that part of the blame should fall on us fans. Being an ultra rational person that I am, I don’t feel the desire to be bombarded with SNSD all the time, we need time to breath and let things sink in also. The over-exposure has taken the excitement of anticipation out of us entirely, basically fans don’t have anything to look forward to anymore because at any given time there’s fresh SNSD material. In this instance, I have to say too much of a good thing has become a bad thing.
It’s good to see that someone here shares the same opinion of me. I’m going to add a few more things which might back up certain claims in the future should the situation arise.
First things first, I always read what people have to say in order to prevent misunderstandings and hope that others can understand my stance on this, but then again, why does it sound like we are arguing when we share the same ideals?
Nevermind, moving on.
SNSD, under the pressure and workload of promotions and activities, seem to have acquired an appreciation for things in small and short order, most likely due to their child-like instincts in them, as such in them as us, I won’t deny that. For example: in Hello Baby, despite their promotions for Genie, they seemed to enjoy their ‘Fake’ motherhood, and enjoyed taking care of Kyungsan. However, as a advocator for free will and human rights, I think the best possible way to enjoy yourself is to do whatever you want WITHOUT any interference of any form. SNSD, in Hello Baby, while gaining this newfound appreciation for their parents and other more smaller things, like playing with toys, had their unscripted activities of taking care of the baby being captured on camera and broadcasted on TV. Now, as a individual, I would feel very awkward doing what I like on TV, but for me, I would rather do something that involves a lot of activites instead of something small. I don’t know, perhaps it’s my nature as a spontaneous person and SNSD has already grown to adapt to it. I can adapt, but the instinct remains.
In short: This is my view on their free will and rights, while under control of SME, utilizing the Hello Baby program as an example, I like to give my views on subjects like this, and I do, but the utilization of it to protect the rights of SNSD as a concerned SONE is what people should, not just as a SONE, should do often for other parties’ rights.
More examples to come later, should it look like my comments elicit a response.
G20 Summit coordinators did a good job on making SNSD their idol ambassadors 🙂
