Yeah the single column layout does seem pretty empty.. but I still prefer it over the cramped, two column layout. Like previously said, maybe there needs to be more color? I’d suggest there to be a clearer divisor between the posts.Maybe add something colored between each post? That can make it look less empty keke.
I like the one column configuration more than I liked the two columns, but I still think the original is best 🙂
The width of this single column was an absolute overkill.
i love 2 columns from the beginning! ^^ so…. yeah, i prefer 2 columns =)
this looks a bit……… empty? yeah~
but, it’s up to you^^ i just support whatever it is^^
lol i thought i was the only one that didnt like the two collumn…i thought the two collumns ones were messy…like the news weren’t in line gives me headache trying to see which one is the newest update…
Neither the single nor the two column layouts really appeal to me that much. If I had to choose between the two, I’d go with the two column one, though. Also, I have trouble differentiating the replies in the comments section from the other comments. It’s not very well-defined at all. I guess it doesn’t really matter too much to me seeing as I usually access posts directly from my email if I check them out.
I love the two column orientation of the website. I was very different and had a cool newspaper look to it, having the text span so far and then to have videos of pictures file under that does leave lots of empty space. The two column set-up seems the most organized to me. If there was a date and time when each story is made, that could ease the confusion over the layout maybe. I’m all for 2 columns.
i liked the two column layout, but maybe the order of the post date needs to be filtered… like the latest post should be on the left column first post, then the next latest post on the right column first post… like how u read a comic book, first row left to right, second row left to right… then the height for each post maybe could be fix, so that it is clearer to the readers… hope this helps…
2 column may looks fill with stuffs and more interesting but its abit too messy i tink.. single may haf alot spaces at the side but its really much nearer .. =)
actually, when it comes to designing a website, you have make sure that you don’t make it look ‘cluttered’. Its will be too busy, and your eyes will naturally strain when it tries to focus on one thing. Sites should have a decent amount of space… its better to have some negative space, than filling it up with text on a bright BG.
Sorry….it just that i took a tech. class, my teacher was so adamant that we shouldn’t fill up the web pages with too many things…
It may look empty to you…but seriously, its easier on my poor eyes..~
The problem I had with the two-column version was that it looked too cramped on my wide-screen, while theres lots of blank white space on the sides. Thats why the single column looks better to me. If the 2-column layout could be improved to fill up that black space so the posts dont look cramped, I would prefer that
I like the single-column theme but agree that the main body of articles is too wide – why not just go into the theme editor itself and make it a little more narrow? It’s not too tough, I’ll help if you want. 🙂
Most of the writers prefer the wider body (especially in articles), it was one of the reasons we liked this theme. The wide body makes walls of text less apparent. =) It’s actually not too wide, considering that we didn’t want it to go over the width of 1024 (most netbook screens).
I like this single-column because:
1. I can read it at work and it won’t be obvious ^^
2. It’s easier on the eye
3. It gets to the point effectively
4. Makes more sense chronologically
5. This is why I choose this blog over other cramped, colorful kpop sites!
Please don’t change it again!
I’m so torn, I liked the single because it’s neater and easy to read but it does seem empty, the double is ok it looks cool but it confuses me a little like “whoa to much, what am I looking at”
I don’t know what to vote, maybe you can center the single column so that one side doesn’t seem so blank.
as i said before, the only problem i had with the 2 column layout was that it was hard to determine which post is the latest without looking at the date. it also seemed very cluttered to look at with every post trying to get your attention, you won’t know which one to focus on first. personally, this single column layout doesn’t have those problems. maybe the reason it looks empty is because you only place a single video/picture in the center before placing a jump link. perhaps if you put at least 2 or 3 pictures before the jump would work. if it’s a video then take screencaps and post those before the jump instead of the video. that way you take up more space and you can then go on and post the videos after the jump. it might also help if you box the left panel, something like how the name and date of the comment is boxed…the one with all the dots, then make the text pink or something that can help contrast the text from the background.
People and their poor eyes. If Facebook, Yahoo!, and MSN kept their same webpages from years past, then they wouldn’t have the nice features they have today. I mean, why is it that when change happens, everyone’s first action is to stay with the old? Answer, because that’s what they’re used to. I mean, with everything being said, I guess that noone has read a magazine or newspaper because they have a lot more information on their pages and have many more articles and columns to browse through. On my screen (1280×800), I think that the two column layout is just fine. So what if I have to look at the date of the post to see where I am. It makes it more of a search than just having the story handed to you. We’ve already gotten rid of the newsprint, do we have to get rid of everything that came with it too?
no one uses yahoo or msn, and facebook even adopted a single column approach by mainly having only your newsfeed at your home screen, and even when looking at other peoples profiles it only mainly shows you their wall. if anything a multi-aspect look is what they moved away from when they changed from their initial format when everything, ever box and app, was on a single page and you had to scroll around to find something.

I like this single column one, it’s much more cleaner, for me at least.

yes..a little bit empty..but i think it’s better to put something on background..
and my opinion i’ii prefer 1 column rather than 2 column..

I just didn’t like reading one thing and being able to see what was coming up next if that makes any sense. Single column just makes it easier for me.
This looks really empty! I just started to like the two columns 🙂

Yes, we understand that. It’s just we think that this is leaning a bit too much on the other end of the spectrum. =/

i do like the single column better.
just a suggestion, in order to make it seem less empty, change the background color of the page outside of where the articles are listed.

Yeah! 1 column post!
I don’t like 2 column post cause it hurts my poor eyes >.<

seriously the two column layout is kinda messy for me…
