Okay, well not the girls, but more so SM Entertainment, the Ramyeon company, or whomever made Ramyeon jingle. But we all know it’s the celebrities who get the blame.
Sound familiar? The same tune was used in >>this particular Ramyeon commercial<< back on September 30th. I know that Anonymous (the second comment) mentioned it but I never looked into until Hiatuslacuna showed me a link to >>this site.<<
But seems like everything will be okay as the site above states:
Update: We have contacted Taito, and according to a company spokesperson, the Bubble Bobble song has been licensed out for the commercial.
Thought so. SM Entertainment is pretty good at staying away from legal issues when it comes to music.

lol Kotaku
Everyone already knew they were using the bubble bobble song well before the cf came out.
By zoolanderson on 2009/10/29 at 3:38 am
hahah yeah, that post came from kotaku. It was posted on a japanese blog site and the post author went all nutso claiming they stole it. Which is SUPER stupid considering that they treat themselves as a news site, so they contacted Taito right away, but then before they got any response they went all ape-shit =p
also, had they done any fact checking, EVERYONE in korea knew it was the bubble bobble song because the ramen company announced it…stupid huh?
I never really had an opinion either way about brian ashcraft (the editor at kotaku that made the post), some people hate him, others worship him, but this definitely edged me towards irksome.
If you read some of the comments over at the post, they’re kinda stupid too. You have some people bringing up how that Uzbek artist stole Genie (as if that relates) and then you had some people say how the girls lost it since they’re gee days (as if that happened 10 years ago or something)…hahaha oh man…
it was weird how the comments blamed the girls too. isn’t it kinda funny that people will blame the idols when they obviously have no say over their public image and what songs they sing? ^^

Kotaku has a habit of making themselves look stupid. XD
They’re kind of the Allkpop/Popseoul/whatever of the video game world.
They also steal 90% of their “news” off of NeoGaf. >_>

lmao, GREAT analogy ^^ now i feel kinda guilty for reading them hhahahaha
though the best thing i learned about all this stupidity was that “boggle boggle” is the korean onomatopoeia for boiling and Bubble bobble was translated to boggle boogle in korean…so i guess it wasn’t a complete waste of my time XD

agree with zoolander. Everyone knew about the Bubble Bobble relation.
People will talk about anything these days…all for the sake of traffic. Yada yada yada….

Yep.. people already knew about this even before the CF came out, as it was in Korean news articles.
So people know its the same theme from Bubble Bobble

Off topic… that’s one of my favourite childhood video game 🙂

Lol, who didn’t know about the bubble bobble thing.
Old news.
And besides, SM isn’t stupid enough to be stealing well known songs.
