FAQ:

Q: Do any of the members have twitter accounts?
A: No. and No.

Q: Do any of the members have facebook or myspace?
A: No. However, you may want to check out SNSD’s official facebook page.

Q: When will SNSD come to *insert country name*? Can you ask them to come?
A: We report most (if not all) of Soshi’s activities, including those outside of Korea. If we have not posted about it, then we don’t know. Unfortunately, we do not have Soshi’s contact information, so we are unable to ask them to visit your country.

Q: Where can I buy SNSD goodies in *insert country name here*? How about Online?
A: We can’t give specifics as to where you can buy them in  your country unless we happen to be in the same country. Otherwise, online ordering seems to be pretty universal.

The following are known to be reputable online sellers of Official Girls’ Generation merchandise:

*We are not affiliated with the above sellers in any way, and are not responsible for issues with your purchases.

Q: Can you promote my project?
A: We generally don’t promote fan projects because it would be unfair to those that we don’t post about if we pick and choose. It also wouldn’t be ideal for us to promote everything that comes our way because that’s not what we’re here for. On occasion, we will make posts about the results of notable & unique fan projects/movements (ie. soshivn), but very seldom will promote the participation of them (whether it be donation or otherwise).

Q: Can you promote my website/blog/forum?
A: Again, this is not done very often due to fairness. You can, however, request for affiliation.

Q: Is snsdkorean biased?
A: Yes. We are SNSD biased.

Q: Can we affiliate/exchange links?
A: That depends… drop us a comment below with the following and we’ll take a look. 😉

Q: I keep getting e-mails from your site, how do I unsubscribe?
A: There should be a link at the bottom of the e-mail that leads to an unsubscribe page. Click it!

Q: I’ve submitted a question through the contact form, why haven’t I received a reply yet?
A: Your question was likely answered in the FAQs above, or along the lines of ‘I love SNSD, please give me Taeyeon’s number’. If not, then please check your spam filter!

  1. I am one of a big fun for SNSD. I now live in California USA. I am trying to get a VIDEO of gee, korean, dance version 2?,
which they sing and dance in front of a white back with circular shaped. Please help me on how I can buy this video?
(This is uploaded in the u-tube so many, but the video quality is so bad and I am sure there is a better original!)

rumors of SNSD’s korean comeback (august supposedly) is floating around. according to silis their korean material is near its finishing stages, so we’d prolly hear news very soo :).

  4. If you’re referring to our blog, then my answer would be that we have 7 members from the U.S. and 2 from Canada, so no, we do not hate ‘Americans’ in both contexts of the term.

If you think that we are SNSD, then you need to read the FAQs at the top of this page. However, both Tiffany and Jessica are American, so it wouldn’t be logical to assume such a thing.

If you’re referring to the general Korean public, then that’s a different question altogether and will have mixed answers due to various political tensions in the past.

I noticed the not-so-frequent change of banners a few weeks back, was it a matter of having to decide between many designs?

Nonetheless, glad to see that a pleasing one has been chosen. =D

        • you can say that. we tend to change our banner whenever a staffer designs and submits one for us to use and recently, some of our staffers designed several banners so we’ve been trying to rotate them. plus, we also changed our banner to celebrate maknae’s birthday. that could be why it seems like our banner has been changing frequently lately 😀

          & thank you. we’re glad you like the new banner (;

May I ask what is the snsd official fanclub whereby I will be able to get front seat tickets if they have a concert? Do I have to pay? If yes, how much?

    • Daveee's avatar Daveee said:

The official fanclub is SONE, and it’s only available to Korean citizens with a Korean ID and bank account. Even then, you wouldn’t get a front row seat, because the fan club is tiered, so fans who have supported the group longer have priority.

In addition, this is only for concerts in Korea. In any other country, you have to get lucky, just like everyone else. I got Front Row seats for SM Town LA, and I’m not part of the official fanclub.

so some fans were talking about possible concepts for SNSD’s korean comeback. and although i have another idea, supposedly a circus/fairytale concept is rumored floating around on the internet for a possible concept. the circus theme was done before (Genie japanese ver.) buy the girls, so fairytale sounds like a good idea. this is also a good opportunity to make a storyline for the mv with a beautiful background (SNSD brings in the money for SM, yet they can’t even afford to make them a great mv). but of course, they’d want to show a dance routine and for that type of concept, something like alternative/modern ballet would be appropriate. and there’s a rumored repackaged (ALA vampiresque concept) which sounds plausible which can tie up with the fairytale concept too. like maybe a twist at the end of the mv, where the fairytale turns dark (not too dark)…what do u guys think?

  18. How come Soshi is so far down on the vote? No site seem to have mentioned it.

Other news, Pyeongchang will host the 2018 Winter Olympics! OMG! Maybe a chance to see some Soshi or other stars on UK TV then?! Even then caught a glimpse of Kim Yuna on the news report!

    • JustaTip's avatar JustaTip said:

      @ Joe
Olympic opening ceremonies are famous for inviting legendary/iconic music artists from the host nation to sing. Olivia Newton John at the Sydney Games, Bryan Adams at the Vancouver Games (Celine Dion was invited but she had to cancel due to her pregnancy). By 2018, the girls will be in their mid-to-late 20s, and may be the perfect representative to give a classy (all-English?) performance that shows off their vocal skills to a global audience. The Closing ceremonies have even more musical acts, typically living legends and more contemporary acts.

Now no one knows where SNSD and kpop will be 7 years from now, I’m just speculating. Can anyone think of other legendary musical acts that can present Korea to the world at the Opening ceremonies (at least among idol music which I hope the organizers don’t ignore)? Or is it going to be more of the type of older acts you see on, say, KBS Grand Concert?

Either way, the games provide a great focus on Korea for two plus weeks., So expect news segments about kpop, and of course, any English-speaking k-poppers will be featured in those reports.

  26. I gotta give you props on your SNSD coverage. Nothing gets past you and your posts are very through. But there is one thing I want to point out to you. In a lot of posts I read of I see the word “angel” or a variation of it. Honestly, it bothers me. Not because it isn’t apt, its because of the overuse. There are many other adjectives you can use when you talk about SNSD. Also, the pink font you sometimes give the word just accentuates my problem.

I mean no ill will but I suggest you cut down on your use of angel. Don’t eliminate it outright, but if you only use it like a person occasionally brings out their favorite pair of shoes, it makes the connotation stronger. The constant use lessens the effect.

    • Narncakes's avatar Narncakes said:

lol! Sorry, I was a little amused by thatonezombie’s comment. I have to admit though, while I’m not entirely bothered by seeing “angel” written in pink, everytime I see it I know for sure Kenneth wrote that particular article. Seems like angel is Kenneth’s go to word, hehe.

      😛

    • Terrez's avatar Terrez said:

      @thatonezombie

I’m a contrarian by nature, and I think that SNSD are called that on almost every occasion because they seem to exemplify the term from the perspective of most, thus the widespread use. SONES would be fine with whatever the ladies are called (as long as it’s good), but it appears that ‘angel or another variation of it’ is the most simple and generic name to give them on this blog. The ‘go-to’ word of some. Honestly speaking, I don’t know about you, nor why SNSD is given that title. In fact, I refer to them with something common that befits their age: “ladies”. They are, after all, young adults.

I guess that it’s a matter of “to each his own”. While I certainly agree with you that the word is gradually becoming hackneyed, I have no doubt in SKE’s abilities as writers to heed your advice, look for alternative words other than and make liberal usage of angel.

As the saying goes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few, and it seems people prefer SNSD to be called that name for reasons I’ve mentioned earlier. Don’t be too surprised if you notice there isn’t a significant drop in the use of the word.

      • I totally understand that I’m in the minority and that’s fine. I was just giving an opinion and just like any other opinion, it can be applied or forgotten. I thought it would be helpful to the writers to hear it. The posts don’t lose any merit if nothing changes. It’s all good and I really appreciate your response.

        • Kenneth's avatar Kenneth said:

          @ thatonezombie
Your point is taken and noted. You got to admit, though, that the 9 ladies have rather outstanding, positive qualities worth emulating (almost angelic in nature ;)), right ? Cheers, my friend !
          Kenneth.

        • RagingXL's avatar RagingXL said:

Kenneth, we want to take nothing away from your writing. But I also believe the word angel (and variants) is overused, and honestly, quite exaggerated. I recently watched a Japanese news clip interviewing concertgoers after the Nagoya stops, a fanboy being interviewed enthusiastically said “SNSD are not human, they are fairies!”, it just cracked me up. I’m sure many Sones (including myself sometimes) share your sentiment about how near and dear SNSD are to us.

But if you really think about it, there are some really endearing qualities about these 9 girls that are not angelic at all – their down-to-earth presence and their girl-next-door image. They never make you feel like they’re untouchable and unreachable beings, and they relish seeing and enjoying the time with their fans. There’s nothing angelic about some of these most beloved and treasured traits. 😉

        • Kenneth's avatar Kenneth said:

          @ RagingXL
I appreciate the feedback on my overuse of the term “angel” and I’ll try to limit its use in my subsequent posts here. However, when I refer to the 9 ladies as being angelic in nature, I never insinuate that they are untouchable or unapproachable, but rather the opposite, as you so rightly pointed out.
In fact, the fact that they are so down to earth in their behaviour and attitude is what makes them so attractive to myself (and alot of other SONES) in the first place :).
So, in my use of the term, I am actually highlighting their unselfish and friendly nature rather than the opposite.
My strong 2 cents worth on the matter.

Most would be surprised at your answer, but I’m glad to be able to get on your level of understanding and empathy, and accept the fact that there are fans from a myriad of backgrounds, regardless of their physical appearance. • Kenneth's avatar Kenneth said:

      @ Terrez
A radiographer acquires the medical imaging required by medical professionals (i.e. doctors) to treat their patients’ illnesses. Radiography is in fact “The Art and Science of Medical Imaging”. We, radiographers, use a myrid of imaging techniques, ranging from x-rays, to ultrasound, to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to get the images needed by the said medical personnel. Hope this explains things a bit, my friend ;).

    Hi guys!
My name is Kathryn and I opened a fanblog for the Piggy Dolls I am currently working hard on.
Would you be interested in exchanging affiliation or links even though it’s really new? I am asking this because I am a huge S♥NE and I follow this page on twitter and so on. Also the dictionary is hilarious! 😡
    Anyways!
    The adress is: dollypiglet.wordpress.com
    Thanks a lot! ♥

But thank you for the chance! [if you can please delete the other comment it went wrong.. sorry]

Yes, it’s extremely tough to recruit great staff. Definitely something to pursue!

    hi guys

has anyone heard that there is some kind of competition with The Ellen DeGeneres show? Apparently she is looking to invite one kpop group to her show. fans are going onto her youtube channel (theellenshow) and voting for the group. us snsd fans should vote too and help snsd achieve world domination! 🙂

  74. Hi i want to stop my subscription because the e-mails that i receive just pile up and i’m the kind of person who likes an empty inbox so it’s getting annoying to keep on deleting them. Snsdkorean.com is my homepage anyway so i don’t need any news feed since i read the posts everyday. Can anyone help me? i don’t know where to go to do this… 😀

    • If you open up one of the emails you’ve received, scroll to the bottom and click on ‘manage subscriptions’ or something along those lines. You should be able to do so from there.

  75. how in the world do you run a successful site?

    • greeentee's avatar greeentee said:

      *define successful* ._.

I’ll leave something vague like hard work and perseverance is what it comes down to at the end of the day. Boss Lady has almost half of the posts of this entire blog.^^

This new layout is really resource intense. It takes my computer 15 seconds to load many of the pages completely, after causing a spike in the cpu to 100%. This did not happen with the older versions. What the hec is going on with this site?! Why has it become so cpu intensive to load each and every single page?

    • greeentee's avatar greeentee said:

The new layout should be about the same as the old layout with regards to resources. In terms of content, there’s not much that’s really been changed. Same stuff in the sidebar, one menu, a slightly larger header image, and an additional quote in the footer area.. but this theme also loses some of the ‘weight’ from the previous one such as the ‘dot grid’ in the menu and footer previously.

We haven’t experienced anything similar on our end, and I’m typing this from my slow-ass work computer. =/

      • Not happy's avatar Not happy said:

Have you added any new trackers or advertisers that might be causing me this problem?

      • greeentee's avatar greeentee said:

nope, the content is virtually the same. we only changed the theme in wordpress. we don’t even have advertising.

Does soshicatalogue (http://soshicatalogue.wordpress.com) load slow for you?

      • Not Happy's avatar Not Happy said:

No, soshicatalogue loads fine. Not sure then what the issue is. My cpu doesn’t really have problems loading any media rich sites, but suddenly with this one only. Ah well.

So glad to see your name again on the commenters listing at the side of the blog page :).
Drop by soon and often, you hear ?!!
      Cheers !

Thanks guys! I’m currently channeling my attention and energy towards a similarly supportive and optimistic fandom*. And while I may have ‘informally’ egressed from SNSD, the person who has learned to embrace love is never really gone, and I’ll make it a point to visit this blog every now and then. =D

        ‘Kay, see ya!

        – Terrez.

        * ‘Sup, Bro(nies).

  82. Terrez's avatar Terrez said:

    ‘Sup, guys*.

Let me guess, another cool-looking banner by ferrerorocher9? I reckon it’s for the upcoming ‘Chuseok’ holiday, judging from the ladies’ attire. Festivities or not, it works well as a standalone banner (if it were one, although I think it might change once the holiday is over), and while it probably isn’t hard to create from her point of view, it’s still quite amazing**.

Although this isn’t my kind of thing, I suppose it won’t hurt if I leave another minute hint of love for this blog? After all, this is a fandom which thrives on the stuff and you can’t get enough of it anyway, since SNSD has thought us that it isn’t entirely a double-edged sword and we can go all out with loving and embracing one another.

Oh, and hi, Kenneth. Good to see you again. =D

Other than that, I’ll see you guys soon.

*I felt inclined to say ‘Bro(nies)’, but I realized that there is a time and place for everything.
**I sound like one pretentious crook, but really, I tend to be a sucker when it comes to art.

    • 😀 lol thank you, terrez. i’m flattered that you like our new banner. initially, i thought of having the banner until the ‘chuseok’ holiday was over, but i’m hoping to keep it there a little bit longer.

  83. Even though her birthday isn’t until the 22nd, Sones at the Taiwan concert prepared a surprise for Hyoyeon. They sang happy brithday (in English) and spelled her name with light sticks in the auidence. The Girls also brought out a cake for Hyoyeon on stage and hilarity ensued 🙂

There are alot photos of this online, too. Just thought I shared with my fellow Sone on my favorite SNSD blog 🙂

    • i love when sones have events like these. it’s so touching (; our staffers are currently working on the concert’s post atm and we’ll be sure to include it in the post. thank you for sharing this with us.

  84. I’m not sure if it’s my browser (Google Chrome) or what, but I am simply unable to log in via my Twitter account today. I have two twitter accounts, and no matter what info i provide for the authorization app, in logs in on my other account. I have a twitter reserved for Soshi and my regular twitter, and it keeps trying to log on via my regular one.

  85. I cleared the cache and that seemed to fix it. Keep up the fine work. I love this blog and read it religiously!

    • No problem, sorry we couldn’t reply sooner. Usually it’s because you’re already logged into one account in that browser.. so it’ll try to authenticate using that one. Sometimes it just screws up with dual accounts I guess, so I’m glad clearing the cache fixed it.
