Well, both in the figurative and literal sense, the Girls did indeed bring the Boys (both fanboys and fangirls ;)) out in force during their recent debut performance in the recent SM Town New York concert event.
Held at the famed Madison Square Garden arena over the weekend of 23rd October 2011, the event drew a record crowd of excited fans all eager to listen to our 9 ladies (in addition to the other well-known SM K-Pop acts invited to the event) live.
With their recent comeback hit song “The Boys” being released worldwide on the 19th of October 2011, US SONEs and fans were dying, as it were, to feel the heat of the 9 ladies performance up close and personal :D.
Well, the 9 ladies, as always, did not disappoint and gave a heart-stopping rendition of the new song, in addition to some of their other favourites like “Hoot”, “RDR”, “Genie”, “Gee”, “Kissing You”, “The HaHaHa Song”.
To top it off, some fans also managed to record some of the other performances during the event that involved only 1 or 2 members of SNSD for us to vicariously enjoy.
Anyway, some of the SK staffers were actually present at the event, so do checkout their fan accounts when it is updated here :).
As a bonus, Soshified actually managed to arrange a fan-meet for the lucky SONES able to stay an extra day in the city. As far as I can gather from the posted fancams, this too was a roaring success :D.

it was a great concert. the performances by the girls and the others were all excellent. everyone seemed to be having a great time performing. it was real exciting to see them come back out to perform Gee, especially since i thought The Boys would be the last song. it was an unforgettable night. i’m just sorry i couldn’t make it to the fan meet yesterday.
the girls all looked very beautiful in person. i thought taeyeon (obviously) and yoona and seohyun looked the best.
teddy riley (at least i think it was him, since lots of people were asking him for autographs and taking photos with him and heard few people say his name) was at the concert just across the aisle from me. i saw him holding up his camera during The Boys performance. it looked like he was recording it.

The two MCs were unprofessional ! it’s a fan meeting yet every 5 seconds u were hearing the chick telling everyone to shhhhh..the korean guy interpreting was off and boring. He had no enthusiam at all. They should have just let Tif and Jessica MC cuz it would have been so much more smooth. Btw, having the fan cheers loudly would have encouraged the girls to be alert and excited. Instead it was conrtrol. How lame is that?? I can see that Yoona was hurt and completely out of energy. I feel sad and bad for her. I hope she’s resting nicely today. Taeyeon also looked completely exhausted. I hope she resting nicely today as well. Girls are working hard to make it a gr8 outcome for the fans. Please appreciate their little mistakes and stop criticizing for every little thing. They’re sleep deprived, jet-laggin, in pain, and probably not eating/drinking enuff. I come to realize that fame isnt all what we think it is. They lose a sense of their identity just to please us. We need to love them for their faults and realize they are humans n need their sleep, food, and peace. I’m lucky that I have money,
a gr8 job, no1 bothering me every 2nd of the day, and I can sleep whenever I want, eat what I want, date who I want, etc. Keep on fighting SNSD and rest well! Sorry just yapping since I’ve seen so many videos the last few days of them looking so down, drained, and completely exhausted. Yet ppl still have the nerve to criticize them for not smiling or not speaking English well. I am not a fan but supports any hardworking women in tis world! Wish you all strength and love as you continue to inspire women, men, and children from all over the face of the earth!!!

OK since you were not there you really have no right to make any judgements about the MCs. I was there and I saw exactly what happened and I can vouch for what the MCs did. The crowd was not behaving well and was being disrespectful and inconsiderate towards the girls when they’re trying talk! Even Tiffany herself, YES, Tiffany herself, tried to quiet down the crowd because they’re trying to talk and answer the interview questions. The crowd was not “cheering” when the MCs tried to shush them but instead making random noises and yelling erratically. If you were a fan there, you’d be annoyed at the misbehaving crowd and not the MCs who was trying to make it better for people who want to hear what the girls have to say and not some crazy dumb fan yelling. Get it?
The Korean translator is not an interpreter by professional, and I can bet you he was nervous, wouldn’t you be if you were translating for the girls at such a historic event? I think he did a fine job except his memory failed him a couple of times.
It’s the people like you on the internet that are so cut-throat and quick to jump to conclusions that ruin things for everybody and unjustly give Soshified a bad name. They really did a good job organizing this event, and the outcome was very positive. Please, I suggest you refrain from making such rash comments, especially if you were not there to witness first hand what really happened. Kpop fandoms are ruined by the kind of rumors and hearsay spread by words like yours.

agreed, they only have about 1 hour to conduct the fanmeet and it’s important that the program went smooth. it’s not like the concert where we need fanchants all the time, there’s appropriate place for that, and if you watch carefully she signaled the fans to be quiet only everytime the girls talk.
that’s what fanmeet is about, right? to hear the girls message and do fanservice to us. it’s not like she told the fans to be completely silent. I admire her to be absolutely strict in conduct and keep the fanmeet organized and smooth.
hope the girls took a lot of rest and back in action with a lot of energy 🙂

i can’t believe that sooyoung is so fluent in english. when she spoke, i thought it was another person altogether. i, like the audience in the video, was definitely awestruck. pity about yoona though…she got hurt during the performance of “the boys”.
