1.8 million dollars, most expensive k-pop event, singapore, snsd, the girls are finally coming !
So, how much do you think it will cost to bring angels to Singapore ?
Well, how about 1.8 million Singapore Dollars 😉 !
Yes, the upcoming Singapore leg of the Girls’ 2nd Asia Tour, to be held on the 9th of December 2011 at 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, will be the most expensive K-Pop production to be held here in this country.
Pipping even the recent Shinee World Concert (which cost S$1.7 million), the upcoming SNSD concert will pull out all the stops and spare no expense to bring the full “SNSD Experience” to SONEs here in Singapore and around the region (? world too :)).
As the staging for the event will be massive, the concert ticketing will thus be limited to only 5,500 tickets for the 1-day event (2,000 of which will be in the 3 mosh-pit pens).
Tickets for the event have been set at S$168 and S$218 (pretty affordable considering the total cost involved :)).
Well, it certainly looks like it’s going to be an extremely exciting performance event for all concerned 😀 ! (I just hope I can secure a good seat then ;))
SNSD Jjang !!!
Read on for the Yahoo news article that chronicles the event:
The upcoming concert of popular Asian girl group Girls’ Generation at a cost of $1.8 million will be setting a record as the most expensive production among all K-Pop concerts held in Singapore.
The 2011 Girls’ Generation Tour in Singapore to be held on 9 December 2011 (Sat) 8:00pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will showcase a 3-hour visual treat of sexily choreographed dance moves, along with a visual play of effects that include laser beams, LED screens, trapezes and elevated platforms.
Fans can purchase tickets to the 2011 Girls’ Generation Tour in Singapore starting 1 November.
Due to the massive staging, a limited 5,500 tickets will be available for sale, and the best seats in the house is the standing mosh pit that can contain over 2,000 fans.
Tickets will be priced at $218 for terrace and moshpit seats and $168 for balcony and partially-restricted seats.
Fans split on price
Price-wise, fans have split themselves into two camps. Some feel that the prices are reasonable while others fear that fans, mostly teenagers or young adults, might not be able to afford the tickets.
“The prices of the tickets are quite justifiable because they are not just catering to one type of audience. I think it’s affordable because I’m a working adult,” said 22-year-old Evelyn Ng, who works in the education industry.
“For teens who aren’t working, I’m afraid they cannot afford it but Singaporean kids are mostly pampered by their parents so I don’t think it would be a problem,” said Fabian Cheng, 21, police patrol officer.
Cheng also felt that the prices of the tickets are in an expected range.
The popular nine-member girl group will perform across two stages and strut along three passageways, where the audience can expect the girls to tease and amuse from every angle in both group and solo acts.
Right in the thick of the action are three mosh pits submerged in the middle of the stage, allowing the audience there to see the girls up-close.
Priority booking period will be available from 29 October to 31 October for Samsung Mobile/Tablet customers and OCBC Credit/Debit cardmembers. Samung Mobile/Tablet holders can flash their devices at any SISTIC counter to purchase tickets.
First 250 tickets for both Samsung customers and OCBC cardmembers will get a 5 per cent discount.
The 2011 Girls’ Generation Tour in Singapore is jointly organised by Running Into The Sun and Conceptual.

They said that the korean management haven’t confirmed the pricing yet

Kenneth you are soo going right?
@ joseph
Yes, of course !
I wouldn’t miss it for anything 😉 !!!
lucky s-sones! btw how much is S$1.8 in us dollars?
@ lii
It’s about 1.4 million US dollars, give or take a few hundred dollars ;).
Hi Kenneth , I’m from Indonesia..
Could you tell me where can i buy the snsd ticket plz ?
Which moshpit would be the best to see yoona up close?
Pen A or Pen B probably…please bring you cam….and emptied your 32GB card with DeerYoona please….:-)
So the total from ticket sales won’t even come close to covering the production cost. Tickets need to be roughly double the cost to break even. I guess the small number of tickets and low(?) ticket cost will be largely subsidized by sponsors such as Samsung and OCBC. Talk about special tickets.
wow All that money made my mind empty
i hope i can get good seat even if i’m not Singaporean 😦
I wanna see TaeYeon and tiffany, where should I sit?
Wow… that’s just… teen here… Hope i can go…
I WANNA GO after I finish my exam
wow..when will the tickets be available to buy? If not already?

-cross fingers and pray-

GO FIlipino SONES ❤ Saranghaeyo SoShi ❤
uuhhh..seeing the cost, make me think”are thy going too indonesia too, considering there have been no news of that” ahhh….i wanna see sooyoung and Yoona hiks..hiks
i hope so.. hiks
Damn, that’s a ton of cash.
I wanna see Taeyeon 😦 I bet i will cry there lols
It’s my dream to meet snsd! but I don’t think i can afford it, I am only 13!! T_T
Gosh! SNSD HWAITING!!
Proud to be a singaporian 😛
You know whats really annoying;
I’m sitting here in Perth and including the price of Tickets, Flights and accomadation it’s still almost half the price to see them in Singapore than it is to see them in Sydney…
And the Singapore is only SNSD…
@Kenneth Hey! I’m from SG too. I’m 15 and I have never ever been to a concert before. My mum asked me if I wanna go for SNSD’s concert and I think I wan to. I don’t know how to purchase tickets… 😦 I wanna get those seats near the stage moshpits? Wadeva u call it… Those that require u to pay $218. How do I get tickets and will those tickets run out super quickly? :((( Will fans camp overnight to buy tickets? I really wanna go for SNSD’s concert!!! How do I secure a ticket? (I’m a fan girl hahaha)
yes most likely fans will camp over night at the counter from Friday to Saturday. from past exp tickets will be sold out in hours.
Then how about the priority booking period from 29 October to 31 October? If I buy my tickets online using OCBC credit card would it be better than queuing? 😦 I really wanna goooo
i think those OCBC credit card holders have a better chance in getting the best tix.. according to some reviews, the system continuously lags once sales starts. anyway, still so envious.. to all OCBC cc holders with a big heart, please please buy additional ticket for me 😦 i’m willing to pay for your expenses or effort 😦 kindly email me marion_reyes@ymail.com
well… wish every1 luck in getting the best tix. I’m gonna try go for the best as well =D
Can anyone please tell me which sistic booth to queue at in order to get the tickets when I’m planning to stay overnight?
seriously wat is the best way to get the tickets…i haf an ocbc credit card (got it specially for snsd!)…should i buy online or go to a sistic outlet to buy?…which area is the best to see Fany?!?!…got a realli bad feeling tat i cant get the tickets…anyway 9th Dec is a Fri rite?…tink if the tickets sell well they may add another day!=P
I have the same question. Online booking or sistic outlets? Which one is better? 😦 I’m afraid that tickets are gonna be soooooooo limited. D: Aigoo… Worst thing is that I have no one to accompany me. Currently asking frens or even my bro! 😦
Heys i wanted to go their concert too!! Yet,no one accompany me also,is my exam last day so i need to rush down lor..
i think sistic outlets would be better, according to some reviews, the system continuously lags because of buyers online booking at the same time. well at least you have all the means.. you have a greater chance to buy best tix.. 😦
Which is the best area for terrace?wanted to sit facing the stage but seems like will be blocked by moshpit 😦
Good luck, my dear Singaporean friends!
I hope you all got a great seat, you too Kenneth 😉
I hope you’ll get ‘eyesmiled’ by Miss Tiffany Hwang 😀
Sigh… Mother only allow if do well in exams, but exams end on 2 Nov, by the time I get my results… Tickets would have been sold out… They’re so popular. I really love them! Saranghaeyo!
