Remember the MTV Video Music Aid japan performances a few days ago ? Well, the results of the nominations for the various song categories are out…

and it appears our angelic 9 have bagged 2 of the 3 awards that they were nominated for (yay) !

The categories that the ladies got an award for were for Best Group Video and Best Karaoke Song from their Japanese single Genie.

The musical extravaganza actually took place a few days earlier, on the 25th of June 2011 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan. At the event, the ladies put on an excellent rendition of  The Great Escape and Mr. Taxi, captivating all present with their charisma and stage presence.

The nomination results were only announced on Saturday evening, the 2nd of July 2011.

Their wins were made all the more impressive by the fact that they managed to best the likes of  the Black Eyed Peas, Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, Justin Bieber, Ikimono-gakari and w-inds; all top, world famous musical acts in their own right.

A back-stage special on the June 25th MTV VMAJ 2011 event will be telecast on MTV Japan on July 23rd 2011. This telecast will afford fans the opportunity to re-live the experience of this iconic event a second time 😀 !

Congratulations are thus  in order for our 9 earthly angels for this significant musical win, a remarkable feat made all the more so by the fact that the ladies only debuted in Japan less than a year ago.

In the meantime, the 9 ladies have successfully completed the first of their 2 scheduled concerts for their Japan Arena Tour 2011, held at the Hiroshima Green Arena, Japan.

Another similar concert will be held at the same performance venue on Sunday, 3rd of July 2011.

Kudos, ladies, on such Daebak and Amajjang wins !
