Dreadtech: Poll Added After Pictures, vote away
It would seem that the recent series of posts highlighting the successes of individual SNSD members have sparked a mini-debate here on the site and touched some raw nerves here and there ;).
Well, in an effort to ease the on-line tension a bit, here’s a relatively fun poll for all to participate in…..
I recently saw this random discussion post on Soshified and thought that it would be quite interesting to garner the opinions of commentators and viewers to this site on their thoughts about this question:
“Which of the 9 ladies’ smiles are your favourite(s) ?”
In other words, whose smiles “light up your life” each time you see it being displayed :D.
Please note that there are no absolutes here and all views are perfectly acceptable and correct. A smile from any of the 9 can literally “stop a war/riot, calm a raging beast and bring peace and joy to an entire room/building/concert hall :)”, such is the angelic nature of the facial action ;).
Well, to help us all in this random, fun poll, I’ve decided to include some photos of the 9 ladies which I personally feel brings out the best in each of them (although the final opinion to this may vary among some of us :).) Enjoy the fun !!!

My bias, Taeyeon. But I hope sones don’t war cause your favourite…all of them can’t get this (popularity) without be snsd. Snsd strong cause they are 9 member with different style, talent etc…uniqe. They most stronger… sisterbond. I like Taeyeon most but it make i like other member too. So I don’t like see someone say bad, not only to Taeyeon also other member too. Peace not war…sones.
I really like Tiffany’s smile, but something about Seohyun’s just makes me smile back. She’s so sweet and innocent and I think it’s cute that she doesn’t know how to speak informally. Although she isn’t my favorite member, I really like her smile.
P.S. I don’t actually have a favorite member. I love them all! 😉

First, I’d like to sincerely apologize to the blog staff and the readers for causing the sh*tstorm in the other article that lead to the creation of this poll. My overzealousness got the better of me, and I shall reflect on my mistakes and try to become a better fan.
Could the staff add an option for “All Nine”? I seriously can’t choose, their smiles are all so beautiful, each and every one of their smiles make me forget all my troubles and smile along.

I feel the SAME exact way. In any other circumstance Jessica would have been número uno. But when it comes to smiles, especially eye smiles, Tiffany always manages to make me smile along with her.

all nine please! i am heavily biased for jessica but there’s something special going on with each of the member’s smile. i would be lying if i tell you i never get the urge to smile like a big fool when any of the members smile. they are truly wonderful!

I find that the “competition between SONEs (or even fans of a particular artist in general), touching raw nerves over each member’s successes and sparking a mini-debate” is comparable to those arses over at YT. Nothing more than immature fanboy-ing over entertainment franchises. It’s almost reminiscent of modern, 21st century nationalism, I might add. Incredibly stupid and saddening to know that many of us are prone to exhibit juvenile behaviours. Even more so that people are unable to change their way of thinking.
I don’t see any point in writing a half-arsed comment explaining myself over a “conflict” that never should’ve been brought up, but can’t we all just get along, love and appreciate each other? I know we’re all capable of being better than trolls who b*tch over something when all it brings is more pointless arguments to the internet, and we already have too much of that.

I understand that you guys are all DONT BREAK RULE #1 and all but sometimes sones can have fun and let each other know our secret biases every one has one and we deserve a little chance to show our soshi love. Although we have our biases me as well as every one else knows we cant love one without loving the rest they come as a 9 pack bundle.
But seriously its not breaking rule 1 just by letting every one know ur bias ur not really comparing them ur still showing love by participating in a fun poll.
I don’t know who came up with that Rule #1, “don’t compare members” is not what I wrote. I wrote under the other article that my Rule #1 was to understand that each and every member is unique and brings different talents and values to the table, I didn’t call for comparing or not comparing the members. And that’s just MY Rule #1, you don’t have to go by that if that doesn’t align with your values.
There’s nothing wrong with voicing out your bias, we celebrate different opinions and perspectives, but if some opinions are voiced out to deliberately and unfairly scrutinize or criticize a particular member, then it crosses the line for me. For example, it’s perfectly fine to say “My favorite is Taeyeon’s, her smile is so sweet”.
Then compare that to a negative remark like this one: “I love love love Taeyeon’s smile, but why the heck is Tiffany first, she totally doesn’t deserve it, that belongs to my Taeyeon!” <— see how this person has just made himself/herself the public enemy of all Fanytastics? It's not rocket science, no one's opinion is superior to another's. There's no place here for negative remarks like that against any one of the girls or her respective fans.

If you’re talking about smiles, the best smile in SNSD in my opinion belongs to Hyoyeon. Unfortunately the photo chosen in the article doesn’t do her smile justice. Of course, Tiffany, Sooyoung and (naughty) Jesscia’s smile are equally enticing, but my vote for best smile in SNSD goes to Hyoyeon.
Hyo is my overall fav but i’m going to have to go with Sunny, i think her smile is the cutest thing ever 😀

There are certain smiles that are ordinary and some smiles that are contagious. Of course certain angles/pics make one do a double take, I can safely say in my opinion that these four smiles are my favourites.

All the SNSD angels are beautiful and their smiles are a piece of heaven on earth. And we should not fight about the results of this poll, doen’s matter who has more votes. We are simply expressing our personal bias. I voted for Jessica because to me she’s the most beautiful girl on earth, but I also like Taeyon… and Tiffany… and yoona… and… well, all of them. But there is something special about Jessica that light up my day. Hope someday there is a concert in Mexico so I can see sica (and the rest of the girls) performing live.

My intention in creating this poll post is just to allow us all to enjoy the beauty of Soshi as the Good Lord has provided for us SONES to appreciate ;). I didn’t mean to create any further discord among us SONES who visit the blog-site.
Truth be told, Tiffany’s eye-smiles lights up my day everytime. But, when I see any of the other 8 angels smiling, I’m equally as able to be transported to Soshi heaven then :).

I don’t think your poll was even remotely offensive in any way, and I honestly support the act of putting up such polls by you. Why? Reason being that most polls like these are often set up for the benefits of the original poster not only to accurately assess and gauge the popularity of the ladies among the community , but it also provides you (the OP) with a wealth of information regarding our thoughts and preferences about SNSD. As an added bonus, you can also take suggestions from the community to suit their needs as well, so you can provide better service for them in the future. For me, it allows me to see things in a different light and perspective when I read about what people write and expressing their valid opinions in addition to my own. I’m able to learn from that and become not only a better fan, but a better person. It’s a mutual benefit, for both me and you. As for how we take the information and turn it into something useful, it’s a different matter altogether (I apply what I’ve just read and learnt to my writing, I’m sure you do too).
Unfortunately, some people tend to approach such polls like these with pessimism at heart. Some of ’em think it’s unfair to others because of comparisons made which is sure to upset people and create discord. While this does grant me some insight into why people behave like this, it ultimately isn’t conducive to the discussion at all, especially about SNSD, who’re supposedly one of the most happy individuals on the planet. What would they think of us if they see us bickering among ourselves over who’s better at what? It doesn’t change a thing. The problem isn’t with SNSD, it’s us. We can’t always rely on them to calm us down if we don’t take responsibility for our actions. If we don’t change our perceptions to suit a more positive outlook on life, then all forthcoming posts like this would expect the inevitable pointless argument. Like what RagingXL has said, it’s okay to voice your opinion, but don’t criticize other members simply because of a little biases.
It saddens me because I believe Korean Pop fans are more than capable of holding their own and retaining their composure.
Anyway, if I had to start somewhere, Kenneth’s optimistic demeanour and mindset is a good place to start. I don’t know if he was seeking some sort of consensus from the community, but he had lighthearted intentions when he created this post. I think that posts like these are a great way to reach out and talk with the community and hear what they have to say, but sometimes, people take it the wrong way. It’s like having a Tiffany here in male form (ROFL). From the way he comments, he definitely has a way to assure us that everything is alright, and doesn’t want to create any unnecessary disputes. A soothing touch in his words which clears all doubt should we misinterpret him, like how members of SNSD do when we listen to their music, even when he accidentally submits a post about Tiffany on Sunny’s birthday.
I don’t know how to elaborate further on what Kenneth’s capable of doing, but let’s just say, he has a way with making sure that there’s always some sort of love thrown in. He and I may have Tiffany as our bias, but we both love the rest of SNSD just as equally. I can always trust him to make the right decisions for everyone, something for “us SONES to appreciate” and “just to allow us all to enjoy the beauty of Soshi”.
If there’s one thing he and Tiffany have in common, it’s the ability to lead by example.
