Despite the fact that the girls –as a group since Sooyoung has promoted in Japan before– have yet to promote in Japan, the girls have broken into Japan’s Oricon Charts (which is similar to Korea’s Mnet Charts) with their second full album, ‘Oh!, taking the 54th spot out of the top 100 for the 2nd week of February!

The surprise appearance has shocked many people; their second album hasn’t even been released that long ago.

This certainly is wonderful news and this proves ‘Oh!”s popularity! Speaking of which, “Oh” is still currently topping the charts back in Korea. It was said that the girls’ album is also doing well in China and other Asian countires, besides Korea and Japan. An SM Entertainment Representative responded “We are also shocked that So Nyeo Shi Dae has gone up the Oricon chart even without promotions. According to SM Japan, the girls’ albums are on sales in local mega stores.” However, when the representative was asked about the possibility that the girls will begin their promotions in Japan, the representative replied,  “There are no confirmed plans about that.”

Imagine though, how much more popular the girls can get when they actually do begin promoting in Japan :] There’s rumors flying around that the girls might start promoting this May, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

(I’m happy that they’re doing so well and with their popularity right now, it’s likely they will begin promoting in Japan and follow the footsteps of their sunbaenims –BoA, DBSK, CSJH, etc.–, but I kinda hope it’s not TOO soon. When Korean artists start promoting elsewhere, i don’t know why but I stop keeping up with their news :[ I prefer them promotiing in Korea than elsewhere [US is an exception 😀 lol]. But it’s just a me thing. Sorry for my rambling in my posts again x])
