I don’t normally do these random posts where I just share a snippet from a show…
But I am. Because I love Yuri and I’ve always thought that aside from Sunny and Hyoyeon, she’s sometimes forgotten. Sure, everyone loves her on interviews and whatnot… but because she wants to give everyone else in the group a chance at more airtime, she’s been quiet as of late. Sooyoung‘s still talkative on interviews and very funny, Taeyeon‘s got her DJ and solo songs, Tiffany is Tiffany, Jessica‘s got new solo stuff and she’s also a lead singer (and she leads KPSD), Yoona‘s got dramas and modeling, Seobaby is loved by everyone because she’s the maknae… So what else did Yuri have besides talk show interviews and performances?
Yuri talking about how she used to be jealous of other girls pre-debut, like how Yoona got so many CF gigs and got to debut in Japan and it’d made her worried about her career. Kang Hodong then asked her if she was still jealous with TaeNy having solo songs and Yoona doing dramas and stuff, so she was like, “I’m Music Core’s MC now .” Ah, Yuriya, I love you. lol

I don’t think Yuri has been overlooked at all. No, she may not have that much talk time if all SNSD members are there and she might not get that much lines in songs either. But in general, she gets a lot of love because she has A LOT of fans. Not to mention that lately, she has been the “center” of the group along with Yoona who has always been the center of SNSD.

Watching the first video made me realize how much like Nicole of KARA she is. Neither are the great beauty of their respective groups but both are lively, open and utterly lovable.

KPSD is short for Kkangpae Shi Dae (literally ‘Gangsters’ Generation)
It’s a term (originally?) derived from sLaVe, one of the authors of snsdkorean. It’s nothing official or what, it’s just sLaVe’s theory.

awww. i always thought Yuri was sooo pretty and i wondered why she didn’t get more solo activities too. i think SM just put more emphasis on Yoona…. but seriously, if SM put more emphasis on Yuri, i think she could have been the “face” of SNSD too.
oh, i just remembered… i thought i read somewhere that Yuri seems to be pretty popular among the japanese fans… if SNSD really does go to Japan for activities, maybe Yuri will be quite popular there.
