Ok, I honestly don’t know why I’m posting this (and for that matter, why are you reading this?) when there is a NEW SONG you all should be LISTENING TO. So before proceeding with the article, please, support the girls and give the song a whirl. Would I be jumping the gun here by, dare I say it, saying it’s almost as good, if not better, than Gee? Or did I just commit blasphemy? (For the record, I’m really diggin’ the song. It seriously is the shizzzzz)
In any case, summer’s here. And with it, the 2nd round of the girl groups frenzy. Gee was all the rage and I wouldn’t be surprised if “Gee”nie will be as well. The girls’ new image is fresh (for me, let’s just say legs that stretch on for miles) and a departure from the “cute” concept that seems to have saturated the k-pop market since Gee came out and became a trendsetter. What is even more awesome and important is how they’re totally setting themselves apart from the whole 2ne1 style which is also making itself out to be a trend of its own. Definitely appreciate the new musical direction they’re taking.
My wish? To see the 9 raiding the world once again. Let’s go for 10/10 girls!
Genie for yo’ weeesh foolz; this song is seriously so win.

It’s summer, and there is something that will make it this hot summer even hotter and fun. The reason is – something you can’t help but feel happier and energized – the upcoming girl groups friendly competition.
In the first half of this year, girl groups, with SNSD in the lead, and other female groups like Kara, swept the music scene by storm, overflowing it with energy and great atmosphere. This time, expectation are high with the pioneer girl group, SNSD, and the new debutants of 2009, 2NE1 and 4minute, revitalizing the music industry for the second half of the year.
SNSD, who conquered the first half of 2009 with ‘Gee’, recently announced their comeback with their new song ‘Tell me your wish'(Genie). ‘Tell me your wish'(Genie) is a song for all those that are tired of their daily routines or have lost confidence in themselves, for them, SNSD will become ‘Goddesses of Fortune’, giving them energy and vitality, strength to recover lost courage and passion.
There has been tremendous interest in the picture that was revealed before their comeback, in which the SNSD wore clothes with a ‘marine look’. Likewise, there is a huge interest in SNSD’s chances of repeating or not a hit comparable to the ‘Gee’ syndrome once again.

Obviously, none of these girl groups are going to give any concessions in this explosive competition. Nevertheless, I look forward to the energy that they’ll bring to the music scene.

Well, the good news is, this song is growing on me. But like maria, some of the engrish is getting to me T_T i dont like how they pronounced “wish” and “world” and YES it does matter!
I’m sure ladidada once I see the MV i’ll feel ALOT better of this song :)… this is probably one of the first songs for SNSD i need the liveperfs/MV to raise my spirits about this song.
yes…the word “shupur starr…..ssshining starrr…..shupur starr” is abit irritating…all that Rrrrs!! Other than that, i’m totally in-LURVE with the song! Taeyeon’s awesome vocals is one of the reason i’m soo digging it! i can’t wait for the MV…i really want to see how taengoo will smoke up the screen! gaahh….
It is without a doubt SNSD will rule the 2009 music scene! This year’s year-end gayo awards is as good as theirs!!
Song is great. Bits and the start and the end annoy me though, sound like they are only for the video? Hope that’s the case.
It’s isn’t as catchy as gee, but i like their new look
uwa! can’t wait to see how the competition between girl groups will go. im sure our girls will dominate once again. ^_^

The French are famous for their arrogance about their language. They seem to detest anyone who doesn’t get their precious language quite right.
I don’t ever want to be French about English. English is not even a pretty language to listen to! In fact, to me, English is often improved by foreign speakers.
I’d rather listen to Spanish speakers speaking English than English speakers. And I’d definitely prefer to hear Yuri’s version of English. She made ordering a hamburger sexy!
Spectacular post! =D
I agree, those legs are quite nice, and it does contain a nice “summer” feeling. I also like that they’re steering away from their “Kissing You” feel. It’s time, now that everyone is almost adults, to start being mature and grown up, albeit still being the cute girls we love.
