The Girls are back 😀 !
Yes, it has finally been officially announced that SNSD will make their official comeback on the 5th of October 2011, with a brand new single written, composed and arranged by the very talented Teddy Riley.
Mr. Teddy Riley was the late Michael Jackson’s producer, as well as the founder of “New Jack Swing” and Black Street member in the 1990s. His fame currently precedes him, all the more so now that his official collaboration with our 9 ladies has been announced.
The 3rd official SNSD album single, entitled “The Boys”, will be formally released on the 4th of October 2011, 1 day before the Girls comeback date on the 5th.
The full album itself will be released on October the 5th, on iTunes in Korea, as well as the rest of Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
As our beloved 9 ladies are now relatively well-known throughout the world, they have decided to adopt a worldwide concept in their upcoming comeback music release.
As such, there are plans for both Korean and English versions of the song and music video of “The Boys” (WooHoo 😀 !).
As a precursor of what to expect for their comeback, teaser images will be released on a regular basis. First up, starting on the 26th of September 2011, is none other than our favourite kid leader Kim Taeyeon ;).

Girls’ Generation will release the third album title song, ‘The Boys,’ through iTunes (Americas, Europe, South America, etc.) worldwide and through various music websites in Asia including Korea on October 4th. Also the full tracks from the album will be released on October 5th so it’s predicted to create a ‘Girls’ Generation Syndrome’ once again.
Also, this album is produced with ‘worldwide’ concept because of Girls’ Generation’s growing popularity not only in Asia but also in the world. They will reveal both Korean and English versions of ‘The Boys’ for the song and music video so it is expected to receive an enthusiastic response from music fans in the world.

Sooyoung’s “Comeback” News
SM Entertainment has confirmed, via a tele-conversation with TV Report on the 26th of September 2011, that our dear shikshin is ready and raring to join her 8 unnies for their planned comeback on 5th October.
Sooyoung, currently undergoing outpatient treatment for her reported coccygeal fracture injury (suffered during her recent car accident), has been practicing the choreography of their comeback performance together with the rest of the ladies, keeping in mind not to overstrain herself in the process.
In the interview, the SM Entertainment spokesperson stated:“Keeping her conditions in check, Sooyoung is determined to participate in the comeback activities. In the future, we will continue to monitor Sooyoung’s condition during her activities”.
In addition, the person also added: “Sooyoung too monitors her condition and she is now back in practice. In order to present the best performance, they are striving hard in practice up to the moment before their comeback”.
Well, Sooyoung, it certainly looks like the Good Lord has indeed blessed you with His healing touch in this instance ;). Looking forward to seeing the 9 beautiful ladies in action again :).

A representative from SM Entertainment has given details onto SNSD’s comeback concept for late September. The new album will be SNSD’s first Korean release in almost a year.The concept of the album is based on ladies. It will have an eighteenth-century French court, aristocratic ladies concept.”The title track of SNSD’s upcoming album will be a track with influences from the sweet tunes of European music boxes from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, coupled with light electronic sounds to make the track sound more upbeat and modernized. The entire album’s concept will expand on the “aristocratic European lady” concept that was not portrayed in the songs of their first Japanese album but included with the covers and photos for that album. The song will showcase SNSD’s powerful, sweet vocals in a unique song portraying a far more mature side to SNSD. Instead of returning as nine girls, SNSD return to Korea as nine ladies, retaining their feminine characteristics yet becoming far more mature.”The song is said to be about society’s stereotyping of the duties of ladies, and of a desire to be different yet unable to break free of society’s demand for the behavior of women. The song is said to be dreamy yet catchy in a completely fresh and unique style, as well as dark and sinister.The music video for the album is said to be “adorned with elaborate costumes and sets. I really, really don’t like that Teddy Riley had a part in this.
Him and his ‘talent’ are responsible for the profoundly disastrous group that was Rania.
Nobody remembers or cares who Rania was.
I love SNSD but collaborating with Teddy Riley was a terrible choice.
He knows nothing about Kpop and should go back to America where he belongs.
I’m going to be very wary of how this new single ends up turning out.
Well maybe you should be more open-minded about this. Teddy Riley has produced for some of the biggest names in pop and has a proven track record, Rania was not a “disaster” by any measure, they showed that they have great potential and people will remember them. If you could at least back up why you hate him so much with some facts, then maybe we will start taking comments like your a little more seriously.

So will the English version of the title song be released simultaneously with the Korean one? I guess not, as the language is ambiguous (“There are plans”). I wouldn’t want a Youtube hit count competition between the two versions, at least not at the starting gate. And it’s just the title track, not the full-album, right? So we should consider it a gift to international SONEs, not necessarily a sign of things to come.
I guess Teddy Riley’s participation was to internationalize their sound into something more mature and powerful. An English-language video with strong visuals and hits driven by SONEs worldwide is likely to reach the Youtube Music frontpage. This strategy, along with an international iTunes release is a smart way to test the international waters at minimal cost due to the nature of digital distribution.
And if the international results fall short of expectations, at least it wouldn’t be an embarrassing failure that would tarnish the SNSD brand had they gone “all-in” with a full-on English-language release and promotions.

I knew about Teddy Riley’s involvement, but I never expected him to produce the main track on the album.
I must admit I’m also someone who’s not excited about Riley collaborating with SNSD.
I’ve heard just so many crazy sick rumors about this guy ( I think it’s best to not mention them here).
Although I have no basis to judge whether the rumors are really true or not, it still just makes me a bit uncomfortable that he and SNSD are working and interacting with each other.
