Yoona has been recently spotted at a Hong Kong Airport and keen-eyed fans have been quick to share some pictures. There is no confirmation on Yoona’s reason for travel yet, so in the meantime, you can check out the candid shots and a fanaccount under the cut!
Apparently, a fan gave Yoona a Cartier product. JEAL.
And here’s a fan account:
1. Yoong came at 9:30pm. (airport). 2 women and 1 man accompanied Yoona to the airport, but only 1 woman went into the departures with Yoona. After Yoona went into the departures, SONEs who stood outside shouted “YOONA!” and then Yoona waved goodbye to us~
2. 1 fanboy got Yoona’s signature, so lucky~ and 1 fangirl passed Yoona the gift too~
3. Let’s talk about tonight~
Actually, Yoona arrived at terminal 1’s row J at about 9+pm. (she even walked past us.)By then, there’s already quite a few fans waiting for her~
Eventually, when she went to check-in, she attracted lots of other tourist to take pictures of her.
Yoona then SPOKE IN CANTONESE and asked them not to take photos of her.
But the people didn’t listen to her, and she had to cover her face with her hands~ a little too awkward that moment.
Then a guy went to get signature from Yoona, and after that, Yoona put on her sunglasses.
After check-in, she proceeded to the departure gates, and we followed her.
When Yoona was about to hand over her passport for checking, a girl in white approached her (i don’t know what she did), from what I know, her face was even blacker than before(when the guy went to get a signature).
Later, another group of fans arrived, but unfortunately Yoona already went in..
Everyone shouted “YOONA!”
Yoona then waved to us~~
In conclusion, it was such a happy day~

Judging by the pictures, it seems that Yoona was able to have enough space around her to be considered safe. We don’t need a Soshi Stampede. I’m impressed that she was considerate enough to speak in Cantonese and ask not fans to take pictures. Dang girl, since when did you learn Canto? Am I the only one who remembers her pseudo-Canto?

Hmm, I’m curious now. Now this just might be a difference in culture or totally something else (anyone who has an answer feel free to chime in), but from all the photos I’ve seen of the girls taken by fans, it seems as if they’re always trying to “hide” themselves or they try to avoid being in pictures. I’m writing this from the perspective of someone who lives in the US and where (most of the) celebrities don’t mind being photographed, then again there’s the papparazzi lol.
Anyways, are they trying to avoid being photographed because of the way they look (no make-up or w/e)? Because quite honestly all 9 girls look gorgeous with or without make-up on. Or maybe they’re trying to avoid over exposure? I dunno.
This post wasn’t written with anything negative in mind, I was just curious.
In one fancam I viewed the one man stated here might be Yoona’s father. So this trip might be a family vacation? I am just guessing from the fancam I saw on YouTube. I think compared to the American celebrities, Asian celebrities like to have more privacy especially if they are out with their families. That is what I think 🙂 btw j am from the U.S. too hehe.
Yeah, I think they’re all on a break at the moment. Isn’t Yuri in Bali?
And regarding paparazzi, they do have that in Korea, but it’s not as crazy as it is in America… probably partially because companies try and get their idols as much exposure as possible, so there’s little desire for candid stuff. I’m sure I remember the odd case where the girls have been followed by photographers while simply shopping.

I get what you mean, but it’s probably because in korea, there really is no ‘paparazzi’, it’s mostly just fans. and fans do have a tendency to crowd them. look at every other korean celeb, they are all like that, so maybe it is a culture thing. I mean, I’ve watched Miley Cyrus paparazzi videos and she’s like greeting them and know some of their names, asking how their day was going. But the paparazzi take pictures because it’s their job and they understand that they need room.
U.S artists tend to have people follow them all day though, so they are probably used to it by now.
K artists don’t have professional paparazzis following them all day, hence they probably aren’t as used to it.

I’m from Hong Kong as well. I think stars would also like to have their own “space” and privacy. Understand she might be upset during that moment when people taking her photos. I support Yoona and SNSD as I am also a SONE~

Yoona looks displeased. Apparently people don’t understand basic courtesy and consideration since she’s probably tired and/or agitated. yet some (obsequious?) fans insist on getting her signature. I think the fan who gave her the Cartier product alleviated some of the irration and somewhat elated her a little.

I believe she just needs some “alone” time to recharge, hence ? the trip to Hong Kong for some R & R ;). I think sometimes if we put ourselves in their “shoes” and consider what it’s like to have total strangers just intruding without the basic courtesy to ask permission first, you’ll understand why YoonA put on a “black face” (sic) when confronted by the fans. If they had only asked nicely and thanked her afterwards, I’m sure that she would have obliged :D.

Hm..she doesn’t seem happy 😦 I bet the last thing she wanted that moment was to being in the middle of a photoshoot. I feel sorry for her, but as a SNSD member, I think that she understands that a moment alone is smth really rare.
I think Yoona is capable of speaking other languages. but we just can’t see it since she merely spoke on awards. she’s a underrated for that i think..and other things too. (no need to mention, many will object)

fan accounts said, she came with her dad and two sisters (since yoona’s family is all girls). when fans saw her, they took pictures and the people with her was telling them not to. but they still decided to take pictures, and tourists notice and they too started taking pictures. btw: yuri was spotted in bali, indonesia with her mom and another guy…probably her brother, but i doubt it cause she said her brother’s in the military right now.

I think the girls hv a vcation time..
I’m from Hong Kong too (although now living in the US). I feel sorry that Hong Kong Sones had caused discomfort to Yoona.
I’ve been quite upset all day after reading this article, so I decided to investigate a bit into this matter and just joined the Hong Kong Girls’ Generation Fan Club forum to dig up more information.
Here is a fancam of Yoona at the check-in counter, which captured the moment when the guy asked for Yoona’s signature:

As you can see, the majority of the fans did tried to leave some space for Yoona and tried not to disturb her too much.
When the guy went forward and ask for Yoona’s signature at 1:14, the cameraman and other fans blamed him for “breaking the rule” (they were speaking in cantonese). After that, the fans discussed of getting another signature for themselves yet they refrained themselves from doing so.
I’m writing all this to point out that most of the Hong Kong Sones did tried to behave and not cause Yoona too much trouble.
I feel really sorry if Hong Kong Sones had left any bad impression to Yoona and Internation Sones because of this incident.
Hopefully Yoona will have have a better experience if she ever visits Hong Kong again.
P.S.
I’ve read quite a few fans mentioning that Yoona said: “No photos please” IN ENGLISH.
But it may also be possible that she learned that phrase on the spot and once said it in cantonese.

Clearly Yoona’s reason to for traveling to the Drafon’s Pearl was to take in the city’s awesomeness. Yeah, biased much, but whaddya expect from an American Canto kid? *mischievious grin* How kind of her to learn real Cantonese. Must of been a pain. It still is for me. *sadface*
