I’m surprised Son Dam Bi beats Lee Hyori. I like them both. But I have this mind set thingie that Hyori is THE Queen. xD;;
It’s really a feat for an idol group to appear on this list. It signifies that the group has transitioned from a kpop icon to a pop icon in Korea. This status has been achieved by Big Bang, SNSD, and Wonder Girls(WG would easily be on this list if they were active). Obviously most idols are only popular within the teen demographic and ignored by public. It’s pretty amazing considering that only SES, Finkl, and GOD were able to achieve this pop icon status in all of kpop’s history.
So… BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, Shinhwa, HOT…? Heh, then this is quite amazing.

BoA, DBSK, ShinHwa, HOT have now become kpop legends and they have gained quite a respect even among the public now. However, at the time of their activity they were not really widely accepted among 20+ population. SuJu still needs some time. Yes the key is to become favorable with the 20+ population which is very hard for idols.
