As some of you know, Girls’ Generation will be marketing a special copy of ‘The Boys’ in Europe, North America and other parts of the world. The tracklist along with other important information has been revealed…
The album will contain a whopping 17 tracks. The following has been taken from Wal-Mart’s official pre-order page for Girls’ Generation album that will be released on January 17th.
The most immediate thing that jumps out from the tracklist is the ‘elimination’ of some of the Maxi Single remixes. According to Wal-Mart’s website (pictured above), the song list does not include the Acapella, Instrumental, and Lil’ Play versions of ‘The Boys’. Again for those who do not know, Lil’ Play’s rendition is identical to Snoop Doggs except the rappers have different lyrical verses. It appears that they have sacked his version for the release.
The rest of the singles on the CD are hot off the full-length 3rd album (that recently won the GDA Digital Daesang and Bonsang :D). As you can see, not a single song from the Korean album has been cut from this special international edition. As expected, all of these songs will be in their native language, so those hoping to have more GGΒ EnglishΒ will have to wait.
Pre-orders are now available online at two of the biggest retailers in North America (Amazon & Wal-Mart). If you have other site links where people can pre-order the album feel free to share them in the comments below.
Right now both Amazon & Wal-Mart are selling the pre-orders for $9.00 a piece. Pretty great value for a 17-song album.

Wow! Only 9$? Still, I’m disappointed that there won’t be any new English versions of songs, and since I already have the Korean version of the album, I don’t know if I’ll be buying this for myself. However, this would make a great gift to a fellow SONE or kpop enthusiast!

Dang, I liked the Lil Play better than the Snoop Dogg version. After Snoop’s latest headlines I hope that SME will think twice about who they want the girls to be associated with on these collaborations in the future. I’m still looking forward to walking into Walmart and buying this, assuming it will be in the B&M store next week.

The Boys remixes had me in tears it was just so surreal, you’re listening to the opening of the song then snoop just drops in and starts rhyming about cake lmao.

i hope that means that it is available at itunes in europe as well since i only wants one version of “the boys” the korean version that is.
there are some new songs i will purchase too ofcourse, still waiting for jessicas cover of “almost” though since i like her version better than the originale one.

the boys costs $22… the Mr. Taxi Repackage costs $19…
this (which contains all of the songs from those albums and MORE) costs only $9.

I bought “The Boys”, “Mr. Taxi Repackaged” and “The Boys Japanese Repackaged” and I’m still gonna but the North American version to show FULL support to all 9 ladies π
^ agreed, I don’t think the US version will have any of the photo cards or even the metal box for the disc actually … π

I looked on Amazon.co.uk and they have a pre-order for the album available for Β£9.12. Not sure if it’s exactly like the one available in Wal-mart and all that but I’m assuming so because it says it’s going to be released on Jan. 17 2012. So :3 I think Ima go buy pretty damn good if it’s 17 songs with the posters and stuff (if its acc included…) not sure tho ‘cuz amazon.co.uk hasn’t shown any details yet apart from a comment..

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! super excited to get my copy next week π I was hoping that all of their 3rd album tracks would be there, and my wish was granted! haha π

Definitely dont think the snoop dogg version should have been on here. For some odd reason interscope makes the track sound as if the rap person is the main artists while Soshi are nothing but backing singers. That should never be! In fact, I would have ditched tracks 14-17 completely and instead added Mr Taxi (japanese version), Bad girls, and any other two tracks that absolutely ARE NOT tainted with western ‘guest stars’. Come on, SM – stop trying to push the girls into the background on their own record! We buy the records to listen to Girls Generation – not anybody else!

I wanna get this and think it’s super cheap I live in the uk I cannot and am not aloud go buy things online as I was hoping to get it off amazon.co.uk does anybody have any other ways on how to buy it and will it just be available online or in stores too ?:/

Finally! When this comes out, it will be the first time I will be able to walk into a WalMart in my country and buy a k-pop CD, a physical CD. And I don’t even have to worry about the price since it’s only $9! I don’t have to go to a small store in Koreatown and not know what the storeowner is saying and spend over $20 on a cd. Yaaay!!

Guys… For $9.00 don’t expect it to be of the same packaging of that of the original Korean release. I have a feeling its going to be in a jewel case or a digipak.

Just got my copy in the mail today! It’s in the standard jewel case that you usually find CDs here in the US and it includes a little booklet with the lyrics and a few photos of the girls and a credits page (wished the thanks to pages were included, but I guess that would have driven the printing costs a bit higher or taken out the pages with the photos). Not the special case of the Korean album, and the extra photocards and posters aren’t included, but hey, for $9, it’s worth having something physical in your hands that you ordered from Amazon, Best Buy, or Walmart π
