Wow! What an astonishing feat for our beloved nine – to have the number one song of the decade (2000-2009) with “GEE”, bestowed upon them by one of Korea’s most popular online music websites, MelOn. Their following single “Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)”, was also included on the list of top 100 songs of the decade, at number 42.
As K-pop during the 2000s was very influential and filled with smash hits from some of the genre’s hottest acts; SNSD’s claim to the title is made even more impressive by the fact that “GEE” was released towards the end of the decade in 2009. It quickly went on to convert the average person into a SONE, win nine consecutive Music Bank K-Chart awards, as well as win a multitude of end of year awards:

the first time i saw it i had no idea who they were and i couldnt really tell them apart from eachother (feel guilty to say)
but this the video that sparked my whole KPop experience ! and i dont regret any of it !

Same here ! Same here ! It was one of the first few K-Pop MVs that I watched (and enjoyed tremendously ;)), and, like kesosauce, I couldn’t tell the difference between Yuri, Yoona and Seohyun ( 😦 ) ! I felt that Tiffany looked “Super Cute” though and Taeyeon had the best vocals even then 😀 !!! Yeah, the “Gee” MV did play a significant part in turning me into a true-blue SONE (the other being the ITNW MV ;)) and I can proudly say that I now can differentiate between the various members with confidence (even the graphic novel depictions of the 9 “angels” ). SNSD JJANG !!! SNSD DAEBAK !!!

i know SNSD through the Gee MV too! But honestly, im not a Sone yet that time.. And i cant even tell them apart.. I become one of the Sones after i watch Oh! MV and so on.. And i learn a lot about them.. But yeah, Gee is a Legend! 9 girls, 9 weeks, and 9 wins! SNSD daebak!!

congratz to my girls! unfortunately for me to say, but Gee wasn’t the first snsd mv I saw… it was oh… and I noticed Sunny immediately and she’s been my favorite ever since! 😀 next would be Tiffany, but there’s something amazing about every girl! at first I couldn’t tell any difference between anyone while looking at an mv or remember any of their names, but now that I’m a sone I can tell who’s singing what just by listening to a song and I could look at any picture and name all 9 girls in a heartbeat without messing up once. SNSD was the first kpop group I’d ever heard, and I’m pleased to say that they introduced me to kpop, and now I can’t get enough of it!!! I’m so glad to see how far they’ve come! they deserve every award they get.

OH! was the first mv that introduced me to them, then followed by GEE. like alot, i really cant differentiate who is who in the beginning. i loved all their songs, especially RDR at first in particular, then realising myself continuously searching for videos of them in youtube, slowly knowing them one by one, recognizing their voices and etc, and im secrectly proud i even understand the soshi farm! ^^
i love them, so much sometimes i watch their video wishing how can i ever be that perfect like them, yet truth is the more you stay in front of the com, the more you wont be like them. hahahahah. i believe they made us girls feel OMG, why are they soooo perfect? but at the end of the day, i still love them!
though they might have changed, because in this society once a group gets popular they’ll definitely ‘pack’ them to whats in and hot. but i love them! into the new world MV was really one i see all of them working so hard, and i believe no matter what, they’re still the 9 amazing and lovely angels!
snsd is my definition of kpop. 🙂 they definitely brought me into this, and never leaving them. i love their hello baby, how dorky their, each and every entertainment shows they’re around.. it just feels like seeing your kids growing up. :’)
