Yes, shortly after their release of “The Boys” physical album in the United States, the Girls made a listing on the Billboard charts. The results: an extremely impressive 2nd place on the Billboard “World Albums” chart .

To top it off, the 9 ladies also managed a commendable 22nd place on the Billboard “Heatseekers Albums” chart.

My reaction (and I am pretty sure that SONEs all over share the same sentiments with me on this matter): Daebak and Jjang !!!!

Congratulations to our 9 Gorgeous and Extremely Talented ladies for garnering such significant successes in the US music scene in such a short time. All your hard work has really paid off here. You gals totally deserve this .

She was also seen filming a cameo for the SBS sitcom “Salamander Guru and the Shadows,” which features labelmate Minho of SHINee.  She looks happy, but maybe a little cold waiting for her turn to film.  Either way, a bright, upbeat Taeyeon makes me happy!

The sitcom is scheduled to air its first episode January 27th.  However, no dates have been revealed on when the kid leader will make her cameo.

A short snippet featuring Jessica was shown in the preview for the next episode of ‘Wild Romance’. As previously reported, Jessica released a duet with Kim Jin Pyo for the drama’s OST and will also be playing the role of Moo Yeol’s ex-lover. Check out the preview below!

Girls’ Generation will be making another set of US television appearances on January 31st and February 1st to promote their recent American album release.

Girls' Generation to perform 'The Boys'

Viewers with access to the American channels ABC and CBS will be able to catch the girls on ‘Live with Kelly’ and the ‘The Late Show with David Letterman‘. Two of the more popular shows in their respective categories.

‘Live with Kelly’ is a popular daytime North American talk show that airs at 9 AM EST on ABC (Check Your Local Listings for more information). According to Nielsen TV ratings, the show that airs every weekday, captures an audience of approximately 5 million Americans. The girls will appear on the Wednesday February 1st, 2012 airing of the show alongside Howie Mandel (co-host) and Jennifer Lopez. Of course TV Guide lists them as performers, but there is always a possibility of more in store, especially for an hour long talk show (with commercials).

The Late Show with David Letterman (Weeknights, 11:30 EST) is another popular nighttime talk show that features various celebrity guests. According to Nielsen TV ratings, the show gets a total weekly viewership of around 3.3 million people. While their website has not confirmed the appearance of Girls’ Generation officially, Soyuri (the founder of Soshified) has more than hinted at their appearance by tweeting that an official press release will be made available to GG fans on the 25th (today), while urging fans to purchase tickets for the Tuesday January 31st, 2012 airing.

Well, one lucky person certainly did . A good friend of Yuri’s apparently managed to obtain good wishes from our 9 gorgeous ladies on her “big day” (i.e. her wedding day), no doubt a surprise wedding gift from her good friend from SNSD .

Ah, the benefits of knowing Soshi on a personal level, eh ? I’m pretty sure this is one video that will be played ad nauseum each time guests come to visit the happy couple in their matrimonial home . Some folks just have all the luck !

On January 22nd, our ladies participated in the SBS special “2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics Concert“.  They performed at Alpensia Ski Resort in celebration of South Korea’s 2018 Winter Olympics win!  It was a pretty popular event, attracting 4,000 people, including many idol groups and South Korean president Lee Myung-bak!  They performed their hugely successful and popular single “The Boys”.  With SNSD’s worldwide popularity, hopefully this performance will raise a bit of awareness of the beauty of this small ski town!  SNSD fighting!

MBC aired a Lunar New Year Special called “2012 Idol Star Championship” which featured none other than our Yuri and Tiffany!  They were paired up in a battle against T-ara for the game of “Show! Music Core Battle of the Strongest“.  The battle was in a game of “Alkkagi”.  Alkkagi is a game where you try and eliminate your opponents pieces by flicking your own pieces at them and knocking them off the board.  If you watched “SNSD and the Dangerous Boys Ep 2,” everyone’s skill level is about on par with their ping pong skills, haha.  However, it’s still very cute to watch .

I’d like to wish everyone who celebrates the Lunar New Year a happy new year!  Be safe, have fun and have continued prosperity this new year!

First up, here’s wishing all SONEs (especially those who will be celebrating ) a Blessed and Prosperous Chinese Lunar New Year ! In conjunction with the current festivities, please allow me to showcase the latest YulTi MC cuts from the recently concluded Music Core episode (first telecast on the 21st January 2012) for everyone here on SK to enjoy.

I must say that the 2 ladies have gotten so much better in their stint as MCs for Music Core, this episode being no exception .

This time around, they both look simply adorable in Hanboks, with Tiffany “slaying” the audience with her “killer” eye-smiles and Yuri bringing “the house down” with her “smexy-krab” performance .

My only regret is that I wish I knew enough Korean to understand the subject content of the 2 ladies’ banter, because it certainly looked like a lot of fun !
